Homemade Cranberry Sauce...that's what Mommy's makin'!! And it's Yummy!
For the first time...and I'm impressed, Why did I ever buy that canned stuff??
Here it is!
Yes, I'm the guilty one-ya know, the one with the spoon beside it-sorry, couldnt' resist!
If you want to try it, here is the recipe:
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
1 bag 16 oz fresh or frozen cranberries (I used Frozen)
1 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 tsp orange extract (or you could use fresh orange juice)
1/4 tsp lemon extract (or use fresh juice)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Place cranberries, sugar, extracts and water in pot. Bring to a boil. When Cranberries burst, reduce heat, add spices, walnuts and raisins. Let simmer until most of the water is gone and becomes a thick mixture. Let cool and put in refridgerator. Mixture will become thick.
What is your favorite dish at Thanksgiving? Let me know!
